A new restaurant at the
intersection of Lakeline Boulevard and U.S. Highway 183 brings
a taste of the Orient to the Hill Country.
Mama Fu's
Asian House's grand opening Saturday, Feb. 18, was a
successful one with people constantly walking through the
door, partly to get a good taste, but also to support a local
charity, Hill Country Com-munity Ministries (HCCM).
Restaurant owners Randy and
Rebecca Murphy offered HCCM half of the first day's revenue,
and presented a check for $2,300 to the organization during
its ribbon cutting on Wednesday with the Cedar Park Chamber of
Commerce.
Rebecca said the pair spent four years
researching franchises before deciding on Mama Fu's. She said
their tasting trip to Atlanta settled the deal.
A group
from USA Kung Fu Academy was on hand Friday to perform a
Chinese Lion Dance to bless the new business.
