ATLANTA, (Feb 6. 2006) – Mama Fu’s Asian House
is ready to “wok” the Austin community with the opening of its
restaurant at 11301 Lakeline Boulevard, in the Parkline Shopping
Center. Casual yet cool, fast-paced and fun-spirited, the
restaurant is favored for its fresh, healthy and affordable dishes
that reflect the flavor-packed fusion of Vietnamese, Korean, Thai,
Chinese and Japanese cuisines – without the mystery.
Franchisees Randy and Rebecca
Murphy, owners of Murphy’s Restaurant Group
are introducing the concept to Austin and plan to launch two more locations in
the city over the course of the next 18 months. Future locations include
Southpark Meadows and The Triangle. A blow-out grand opening event is planned
at the Parkline location for Saturday, Feb 18 and will introduce the city to
Mama’s “fu”-nomenal food, and 50 percent of the proceeds will
go to local charity Hill Country Community Ministries.
“Mama Fu’s is a wonderful fit for Austin – everyone loves
good Asian food, and Mama Fu’s serves it with quality taste in an enjoyable
setting” explains Murphy. “Mama Fu’s resonates very
well with Austin’s casual, yet sophisticated and health conscious culture. Asian
cuisine has a long tradition of success in Austin, and with our serious
focus on customer service, we believe Mama Fu’s will appeal to many
people in our community.”
With a bold color scheme of red, gold and
purple and custom-designed artwork that includes the word "laughter" in
five Asian languages, Mama Fu's buzzes with a high-energy vibe where
the wok sizzles at 800 degrees and the service just plain sizzles. This
fast-paced restaurant, named Nation’s Restaurant News “Fast
50” plans to define the Asian Fusion segment with its own interpretation
of fabulous, fresh and healthy dining.
Mama Fu’s Austin serves a fresh “fu”-sion
menu, combining unique Asian-inspired flavors with familiar American
favorites. The “fu”-sion
menu includes choices such as Szechwan Baby Back Ribs and an Asian
Pork Tenderloins. In
addition to the the “fu”-sion menu, other options include Chicken
Lettuce Wrap (a flavorful chicken wrap with shitake mushrooms, water
chestnuts, scallions and garlic served with crisp lettuce cups) and
Dynamite Shrimp Salad (red peppers, button mushrooms, bean sprouts and cucumbers
over mixed spring lettuce in a citrus soy dressing and served with crispy
shrimp in a spicy aioli sauce). Other popular items include Pad Thai Noodle
Bowl, Spicy General Fu and Ginger Broccoli. Authentic wok cooking is a standard
and none of the menu items contain MSG. Mama Fu’s also features
a variety of red and white wines, sake and a mix of Asian and American
beers.
The bright and energetic atmosphere of Mama Fu’s invites
kids to enjoy kids-menu items for $3.49 including Dragon Tails (chicken
tenders with macaroni and cheese and a treat.)
This fast-paced restaurant
invites local patrons to kick back on its patios or visit inside with
a view of the fires from the woks with Mama’s own interpretation
of fabulous, fresh and healthy dining. Fast-casual counter-service
is the way Mama serves her visitors for lunch, but come 4 p.m., customers
have the luxury of table service allowing anyone and everyone to have a personalized
experience with Mama and her family.
“We are thrilled about bringing the Mama Fu’s experience to
Austin,” explains Brian Curin, vice president of marketing for Raving
Brands. “We
combine our American favorites with an Asian twist in a way that keeps
our fans coming back for more.”
